DESCRIPTION:Mark Your Calendars!\nArt Porters proudly presents Yip Yew Chong’s first solo exhibition, ‘Something, Somewhere, Somewhen’. Once scattered all over the streets, the artist’s evocative murals loved by Singaporeans, residents and visitors are now transported to a gallery setting, reframed in a total of nine triptych paintings, and 15 sets of painted objects. Retaining the brushstrokes and techniques from his murals, Yew Chong emotively captures the ordinary day-to-day and transfers heartwarming Singaporean slices of life onto canvases and objects.One is bound to find something familiar in the exhibition, whether having seen that something on a mural, an old photo, or in one’s memory; but exactly where and when? ‘Something, Somewhere, Somewhen’ hopes to evoke that sense of poignant nostalgia.
